New Line Cinema’s The Nativity Story has been called the best movie about the birth of Jesus since nativity movies were first produced in the 1890s.

Haven't seen that many nativity movies. Saw this one just today & I was just imagining myself there. It would've been awesome to have been one of the Magi or the Shepherds. I had my moments...

History and religion has told us plenty about Mary so it was good to have a profile of Joseph. He probably was a good husband and a father.

have you seen it?
what's your take on the Nativity?
do you think it really happened the way we read it in the Gospels?

I was able to watch it with Ma'am Rachel. The way Mary and Joseph was portrayed in the movie was really humanistic, meaning the reactions and emotions they rendered could be how they really might have felt during those trying times in their lives. My only problem is THE THREE WISE MEN... They were three... and they arrived AT THE DAY OF CHRIST' BIRTH. There are other Biblical contradictions in the movie, but if you're just looking for something to watch that's relevant to the season (and somehow true to the reason for the Holidays), it's not a waste to watch this movie.

I watched this the other day. It was uniquely portrayed. It was not the usual happy bethrodal that we usually see in other movies or tv shows of the same plot. It is realistic/humanistic in a sense, like kuyo Nio said, as it showed what Mary and Joseph might have really felt during the time.

Good observation bro. Jesus would've been a toddler when the magi came. Matthew 2:1-23. I think it was included for theatrical effect sacrificing historical accuracy. It may be the money talking. hehehe :)

I loved the way they portrayed Joseph in this movie. Like what Nio and Dane said, he was very human. The places where they shot the movie were good and the set looked authentic. There were also some scenes, which brought me close to tears. Kaya lang sa mga touching scenes biglang nagpapatawa si Nio kaya umuurong luha ko! Hehehe!
Pero watch it PC kahit na may contradictions (and to think the Director and Scriptwriter are Christians) you can still get a lot of insights from the film.=)
