This morning Honorbound (ICA Men's Ministry) held a getting to know event for the men of ICA with special guests, the
Blackwood Brothers quartet.
This quartet has been around for nearly 75 years. The members have changed over the years but the reason for being has not that is to sing about Jesus. They sing gospel songs and hymns.
It was a trip back to my childhood when I heard classics like, Rock of Ages and Leaning on the Everlasting Love being sung. More than the songs we we had a rare privilege of hearing stories about their personal journeys as followers of Jesus Christ. This made the time more meaningful. I saw these men not as professional singers and bigger than life Christians but ordinary people, frail like me and the other men in the room. The challenges they've faced and continue to face in life revealed their heart and how Jesus has made all the difference.
It was a real treat. Had the opportunity of conversing with them over lunch and it was just a joy. Looking forward to the concert tomorrow @
