Blog EntryWork In Progress! doneNov 3, '06 9:26 PM
for everyone

I arrived 12 am today from the week long young adults convergence, Work in Progress held at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary, Baguio City. It was a cold, busy, informative and fun week.

The week began with a potential super storm. We were anxious to know if anyone was going to turn up since Benguet was along the path of the typhoon. But our fears were quieted when 95 participants came out of the 120 that was expected.

As part of the organizing team we arrived a day before the event to set up. Cold gusty winds and rain greeted us upon arrival in Baguio. We spent the first night at Baguio Assembly City Church & superbly hosted by Brian Lopez who treated us to dinner at Good Taste. Thanks Bri!

The convergence began on Tuesday afternoon and just kept getting better with each day. It was a tight program and at times we even had to make adjustments to accommodate an extra session because it was just so good. The speakers came equipped and ready. They included: Grace Sumbillo, Yee Tham Wan, Jeremiah Balbuena, Joseph Suico, Tom Bohnert and Sur del Rosario. Some of the speakers did not come due to inclement weather conditions so we are thankful for Tom Bohnert who responded to the need. Brother you are truly god-sent!

The sessions themselves were already fun. More enjoyment was added from our last day city tour to Wright Park, The Mansion, Philippine Military Academy and finally downtown Baguio.

Thanks to Ptr. Jerry & Ptr. Suico for the coffee & cookies and joyous discussions 'til midnight. Your concern for the youth and young adults is greatly appreciated. May many more leaders be infected with your passion for leadership development and Kingdom building.

Discussions for an YA gathering for 2007 is already in the works. We're considering going regional LuzViMin. Let's pray for this!

Blog EntryKudos to Pinoy Athletes!Dec 5, '05 11:15 PM
for everyone

It feels good to be Pinoy especially when you've just won the 23rd SEA Games.  At a time when news of currupt government leaders abound and rising oil prices, winning the SEA Games is a good and timely gift for Christmas to the Filipino people.

Final Medal tally:
Philippines = 291 medals
Thailand = 283 medals
Vietnam = 228 medals

A great big CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS to all Filipino athletes who competed in the 23rd SEA Games!  Whether you won a medal or not.  Your efforts have lifted the Pinoy spirit at the end of 2005.

Blog EntryBarney in ManilaDec 3, '05 3:16 AM

Do you think I should take Nav (2 years old) & his mom to watch Barney live @ the Araneta Colesium?

Update:  As of Dec 5, 2005, tickets to Barney's show have been SOLD OUT!

This will be Barney's 2nd trip to Manila.  I gues the 1st was "profitable".  I haven't laid to rest the struggle if I will take Nav to see this live show.  I'm still struggling to decide if cost (cheapest P522 - you'll probably be needing binoculars to see up to P1,566 - dancing with Barney) is reasonable.  It's a little difficult to justify, with rising oil prices.

 Maybe you can help.

This is an event to look forward to this December.

Just some things to look out for:
1. No one gets hurt.
2. Air pollution.
3. Nothing that supposed to get burned is burned.
