Blog EntryPLed's Sunday RoutineMay 11, '08 11:09 PM
for everyone
Yesterday I had a taste of my Senior Pastor's (H. Maurice Lednicky) Sunday schedule.  They are currently in the USA for ministry so I have the task of Sunday preaching.

We have 2 Worship Services and a Sunday School in between.  I got in at 8:30am and the venue was still empty.  So I initiated the set-up (air-con, lights, auto-run ppt announcements).

  • 8:45am People began arriving.
  • 9:00  Doing last minute checks with sound, ppt, video for Children's ministry presentation etc.
  • 9:20  Team Prayer
  • 9:30  1st Worship service. (opening, singing, prayer, announcements, welcoming regulars and guests, preaching, ministry time).
  • 11:10 Personally met with guests in the Pastor's office.
  • 11:30 Taught Youth Sunday School
  • 12:25pm BREATHE, drink water, team prayer
  • 12:35 2nd Worship Service (opening, singing, prayer, announcements, welcoming regulars and guests, finally preaching, ministry time).
  • 2:10  End
  • 2:30 go home, change
  • 3:00 LUNCH
  • 4:30 Go home... conked out on the bed!...
Pastor, has to do this every Sunday.  We'll be glad when we move to a bigger venue and are able to congregate as one body and have one service.  It's a good problem to have :D

THANK YOU LORD FOR THE STRENGTH & THE PRIVILEGE!

Blog EntryBlackwood Bros UnpluggedApr 19, '08 3:28 AM
for everyone
This morning Honorbound (ICA Men's Ministry) held a getting to know event for the men of ICA with special guests, the Blackwood Brothers quartet.

This quartet has been around for nearly 75 years.  The members have changed over the years but the reason for being has not that is to sing about Jesus. They sing gospel songs and hymns.

It was a trip back to my childhood when I heard classics like, Rock of Ages and Leaning on the Everlasting Love being sung.  More than the songs we we had a rare privilege of hearing stories about their personal journeys as followers of Jesus Christ.  This made the time more meaningful.  I saw these men not as professional singers and bigger than life Christians but ordinary people, frail like me and the other men in the room.  The challenges they've faced and continue to face in life revealed their heart and how Jesus has made all the difference.

It was a real treat.  Had the opportunity of conversing with them over lunch and it was just a joy.  Looking forward to the concert tomorrow @ ICA @ 9:30am.

Hey if any of you are around the area then, come and join us and be encouraged.

Blog EntryEaster Weekend RecapMar 23, '08 9:00 PM
for everyone

GOOD FRIDAY.
170pax filled the ICA auditorium for a Communion service which exceeded our expectation.  Praise God!  Many braved the infamous Friday night traffic jam of Bangkok just to be there.

After the service I went with Micah to The Emerald Hotel on Ratchadamri to see & hear part of the ICA worship team doing their thing.  The Metropolis is a professional band currently entertaining guests at the hotel.  They're now on their 8th year there.  3 out of 5 members attend ICA.  All Filipinos by the way (syempre :)

SATURDAY.
Grocery day with Renee & Nav at Carrefour & Lotus on Rama IV.

SUNDAY.
Sunrise service @ ICA @ 6:30am.  I know the sun's already out by then but hey it's something new for the congregation @ ICA.  About 100 people woke up and showed up for that.  It was a blast hearing from 5 different people of various nationalities share what the resurrection of J.Christ means to them.  Thanks for sharing Jonathan, Marilyn, Richard, Rebecca and Cecilia.

Breakfast fellowship was had afterwards.  Good time to catch up and get to know more people.

Service 1.
Full service. Encouraging message.

Youth SS.
17 pax and part 3 of Esther's saga.

Service 2.
Encouraged for the 2nd time but beginning to feel the weariness from the days early & full activities.

Afternoon at home. Fam time. Yey!
